About Veterinary Answers
Veterinary Answers was founded by Dr. Jennifer Fryer in order to provide veterinarians with rapid, polite, confidential access to specialists.
Before her residency in internal medicine at Texas A&M University, Dr. Fryer worked as a feline practitioner, emergency veterinarian, and relief veterinarian in and around Houston, Texas. It was during those few years when she learned that the ideal standard of care veterinarians are taught in school does not always match the limitations faced in the real world. Upon returning to academia for her residency, Dr. Fryer found that one of her favorite aspects of the residency was doing phone consultations with veterinarians. Having been on her own trying to figure out what to do next with a case, she truly enjoyed the learning process involved with figuring out a tough case with veterinarians. She continued to do referring veterinarian consultations while working as an internist in a private practice referral clinic.
Although well-intentioned, fitting in consults during a busy day with no written follow-up or accountability for the quality of the advice offered did not provide anyone with an assurance of a high standard of care. Dr. Fryer founded Veterinary Answers to offer veterinarians a service dedicated solely to helping their patients and their practice thrive.
